Yes of course those of you who mentioned the sunflower (tournesol in French) were right. Look at the flower's heart carefully, you'll see the maturation process making progress from the outside to the center.
ReplyDeleteThey are such amazing flowers, and these are gorgeous photos of them. That bee must be in heaven.
ReplyDeletePerfect, just perfect! My son grew sunflowers in a large pot a few summers ago. One grew quite large. It was so much fun to watch the flowers form & then start to open.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are stunning!! We have visited Avignon in June 2005 and I bought a lovely bright tablecloth with sunflowers printed on it at one of the shops close to the Pont du Gard. I want to go back to Provence one day!!
ReplyDeleteIt is in this stage of development that the American Gold Finch birds love to pull the immature seeds out and eat them. I just took a lot of pictures of them doing that yesterday.
ReplyDeleteA very nice set of two photographs. Fields of sunflower are becoming a better deal for farmers than some other crops although there is a big rush on now to plant corn to use for fuel.
Beautiful! I love sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Nathalie! I like the two photos as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures of that field of gold!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful photographs - love the golden yellow and detail of the sunflowers!
ReplyDeleteGet me to Provence now. Sunshine yellow and cornflower blue, beautiful place, and beautiful images. Big Sgih!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Photos! Cheers from West Sacramento Photo of the Day.
ReplyDeleteExcellent titre.
This post any yesterday's are the essence of Provence. Add some lavender and we could smell the perfume of the pictures.
ReplyDeleteHa!
ReplyDeleteMy husband noticed the tall flower sticking out.
I noticed the little one that hasn't caught up.
