Theme day : mailbox

Rue GrivolasEach first day of the month is theme day for all City Daily Photo bloggers. Our theme for May 1st is mailboxes. In France, mailboxes are yellow. I chose a bird's eye view. For hundreds of other mailboxes throughout the world, click here to view thumbnails for all participants

Chaque premier jour du mois est journée à thème pour les blogueurs du réseau City Daily Photo. Notre thème pour ce 1er mai est "mailboxes". Nos boites aux lettres en France sont jaunes, j'ai choisi une vue plongeante pour vous les montrer. Ce que je trouve amusant dans celles-ci c'est qu'elles sont divisées en deux : un compartiment "département Vaucluse" et un compartiment "autres départements - étranger" - tout ce qui n'est pas du département est donc "étranger" ? Cela concorde assez avec le tempérament assez insulaire qu'on constate parfois ici !     Il les font grosses, ces temps-ci, les boîtes-aux-lettres...
    Esthétiquement, le jaune postal devient un petit peu trop envahissant.

    What a screaming bright yellow color. I wonder if the postal authorities every had a meeting to discuss whether they should have mail boxes that blend in with the surroundings. That idea obviously got rejected.

    J'aurais pu faire le thème du mois sans bouger de chez moi. My mailbox à moi est verte avec un petit bidule rouge sur le côté qu'on lève ou qu'on baisse et une porte qui s'ouvre par le haut car la charnière est à sa base. Elle est assez longue, la base est plate mais le dessus est arrondi.
    J'ai collé sur la porte le n° 2206 et sur un des côté notre nom. Elle est sur son piquet plantée dans un massif dans le jardin en déco. C'est également pour ne pas nous déconnecter complètement de là-bas, de l'autre côté de l'Alantique.
