Avignon train station - the old Avignon Centre station I mean, not the TGV station. This one is located right outside the city walls: a brisk walk up rue de la République straight ahead will take you to the Popes Palace in less than fifteen minutes. From here you can take regional trains to Marseilles, Nimes, Montpellier, l'Isle-sur-Sorgue or Orange and thence to Paris. Oh, it makes me think of those great French paintings of train stations, Monet in the Gare Saint-Lazare, etc. By comparison, the Avignon TGV station, though a technical wonder, is antiseptic.

Les enfants faisaient Noël chez leur père cette année. Nous avons réveillonné cher un frangin à mon Chéri avec un bon dîner. J'avais rencontré ma belle soeur au marché le samedi précédent, nous ne faisions rien et eux non plus, nous étions 6 avec nos nièces.
