Still life with jug

Mid-afternoon still life with jug in my kitchen. I hardly had to arrange the composition a little before photographing it.

Nature morte au pot de terre dans ma cuisine en milieu d'après-midi dans ma cuisine. J'ai à peine eu besoin d'arranger un peu la composition avant de la photographier.

    The background is somewhere between Japanese calligraphy and a bare tree silhouette. It is an elegant photo with an East Asian sensibility.

    Yes Bob, it does evoke Japanese calligraphy for me and the exquisite sense that less is more.

    Non Thérèse, je n'ai pas touché à l'image après sa prise, elle était naturellement très proche d'un monochrome. J'ai simplement dégagé de la desserte un plat de fruits qui encombrait la composition et tourné le pot de profil pour mettre l'anse en valeur.
