Mistral is the name of our cold winter wind, swoosh the sound it makes at it rages through the bushes. We're south of the city along the Rhone river bank, the old railroad bridge in the background. I only just learned that swoosh was also the name of the nike emblem.Mistral est le nom de notre vent du nord, swoosh le bruissement qu'il fait en passant dans les hautes herbes. Nous sommes juste au sud de la ville, le long du Rhône, le vieux pont de chemin de fer en arrière-plan. A propos du mistral, lisez absolument ici le texte magnifique que mon ami blogueur Chri lui a consacré la semaine dernière. Quant à swoosh, ce n'est pas seulement une expression sonore, c'est aussi ça et ça n'a rien à voir - surprenant.

You have gifted eye.
They now have mood and feel.
Do not be afraid to let them go darker.This will enhance the highlights and create more contrast in the overall feel as the midtones subside.

ReplyDeleteMarvellous images that make me cold and uneasy just looking at them. I so remember the mistral in Avignon when I lived there on my return from Australia. It blew for 9 days and nearly defeated me, clinging to lamp-posts sometimes when it swooshed too much! Fancy that - swoosh is the word for the Nike symbol. You learn every day and how nice to learn from you, dear Nathalie.

ReplyDeleteI remember a mild mistral one September day in Gordes. The market was underway and everyone was holding onto their hats. I think nine days of it would drive me insane. I'd have to wear headphones and listen to music.

ReplyDeleteNon, cette image est trop géniale et se passe de tout les textes qui peuvent l'accompagner ! je suis désolé de dire ça, mais je le vois comme ça !... Quand une image suffit à elle seule à créer de l'émotion, des sensations telles qu'on a l'impression de sentir presque le vent sur son visage alors... c'est du grand Art ! L'Art contemporain n'a qu'à bien se tenir...!

ReplyDeleteI will only add that those photos suffered no post-processing at all, they are the natural result of a late afternoon light (6 pm).
The winds of peace Jedaen? Most people who experience the mistral would rather qualify it as "fast and furious" !!!
ReplyDeleteWEll Nathalie it is because of the golden colour in the photograph that it becomes a wind of peace...juxtaposed with your text on victory but that is just one interpretation my interpretation.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to visualize a fantastical wind of peace it would be golden....
Interpretations can be based on personal experiences or leaps of abstraction and fantasy n'est-ce pas?
ofcourse the wind itself isn't golden but it is surfing golden.

ReplyDeletele vent n'est pas d'oré mais il surf l'idée de la paix qui est d'oré et votre beau paysage d'oré.
Et peut-être la paix peut être vite et furieuse.
Les négociations et l'interactivité qui mènent à la paix nécessite beaucoup d'énergie et la vitesse de pensées alors la paix n'a pas toujours besoin d'être calme.
Aussi une autre idée que que je tire de votre photo c'est que la bible fait référence à Dieu comme vent et je peux voir là dans votre photo un dieu qui peigne le paysage.
