Rue du vieux sextierFriendly chat at the hairdresser's door.
The shop's name is Coiff'center - typical franglais (coiffeur means hairdresser).
Petit moment de causette à la porte de chez le coiffeur.
L'enseigne porte le nom de Coiff'center - du parfait franglais !
Sophie has some amazing black boots! Oh la la! Were they talking about Prince William's engagement this week?
ReplyDeleteCertains salons ont le chic pour leurs noms... Sou Tif, Inven Tifs, Effect Tif etc
ReplyDeleteJ'ai pensé à une pause cigarette mais je ne vois aucune fumée...
Bonjour! Nathalie...
ReplyDeleteTwo very nice and very interesting photographs... Up-close and far-away views Of friendly chat at the hairdresser's door.
Merci, for sharing!
DeeDee ;-D
Their reflections are fun and interesting as well.
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely photos with so much going on. I also like the boots. Diane
Fun to see how people around the world dress and the similarities. Have a fun weekend~ Mary
ReplyDeleteJ'sais pas quoi dire :
ReplyDeleteshop à coiffe hair ?
(C'est laquelle la shampooineuse ?)
i got very tired of listening to my barber's philosophy, so i started cutting my own hair. Its nearly 40 years since i have been to a barber shop Nathalie and i cut my hair pretty well. Anyway i would grow my hair pretty long otherwise, as i can no longer afford to have my hair cut at a hair cutting salons.
ReplyDeleteExcellent photo, capturing the two women mid-gossip and then reflecting them. Beautiful. The two shots are so different; I might prefer the way more tightly cropped photo emphasizes their relationship.
ReplyDeleteElles sont muettes

Au bol d'hair...
ReplyDeleteI think they were wondering just how much Charles was going to have to shell out for the wedding...
ReplyDeleteGreat reflections, if you were so inclined, you could link this post to James Weekend Reflection series, which is always lots of fun...
Bonjour chère Nathalie, as usual- your photos are so enticing it leads me to think of one experience I had one Saturday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteWell you know I figure why go to an expensive salon when your haircut looks the same as when you go to the least expensive place.
anyway all the salons around here are really expensive and I really didn't feel like busing it this one Sat. so I turned in at the red and white and blue barber pole just down the street.
I opened the door and saw a very old barber.
I said- would you trim my hair a couple of inches.
and he-I haven't cut a woman's hair for 30 years since my wife died.
ah c'mon I said
and he answered well ok.
I was such a cool experience. His tiny shop had all these little knick knacks- a little toilet that could flush, a little man urinating(kind of guy's stuff oh well) a little Elvis that could sing a miniature barber shop quartet.
Awesome pen and ink carricature drawings on wall done by one of his artist customer friends.
I expected the Backstreet Boys to walk in at any time.
When I first walked in the place was almost empty but it filled up with guys.
clip clip clip and clip my hair is thick
clip clip clip
the barber says-this is taking too long I am going to lose my longtime men customers.
and I say- oh I am so sorry.
and he says when it is over-$5.oo please. Then I was convinced that I was in a different era.
\I expected alberausaurus to walk in any time.
I said 5 dollars. ok. wow. Here I will tip.
No you are the first and last female costumer in 30 years. No tips but I won't do it again.
ah ok.thanks for the experience.
Then back outside to the real world and people say- wow what a nice hair cut. Where dis you get your hair cut.
and I reply -well never mind you wouldn't understand.
Now there is a new barber shop that just opened across the street.I never thought I would see another one of those barber poles. They love women there they said.Upstairs there is a pool table and a school of barber. and I wonder what my next adventure will be like............
That was fun sharing Nathalie.and I do recommend your neighborhood barber. HUGS>
oh and I forgot to mention that the barber's walls were covered with photos form longstanding customers
ReplyDeleteand before I left I had my photo taken and I wonder what the caption would read- the only female customer in 30 years...
Crederae what a fantastic story, this is absolutely out of this world. So glad you tried :-)
ReplyDeleteNo barber shops with red and white poles here but there's an ancient male-only hairdresser two blocks away - looks like nothing has changed in there for the past thirty years. Perhaps I could try that next time?
Try him Nathalie, you won't be sorry!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, Nathalie, go there and let us know what occured! Crederae's story is such a fairytale!
HUGS
