The view from Visan

Visan
From the hilltop above the beautiful village of Visan sweeping views open up onto the large plains along the Rhone river. Perched on one of the castle's ruined walls, the kids we saw yesterday playing with the dog now take the time to enjoy the views. The dog asks to play some more!

Running around

Visan, chateauA bunch of 5 to 8 year old kids set free on a large patch of grass, a young dog that never tires of running around and a stick that gets endlessly picked up, thrown afar, caught in flight and brought back for more... the game kept them all entertained for a very long time. Last Saturday afternoon the weather was overcast and windy but mild and the threatening rain never came down. While my daughter played in a tennis tournament in Valreas I enjoyed visiting the nearby village of Visan. On the grassy hilltop only a few ruins and an information board remind visitors that a proud castle once stood here.
I love to watch dogs and children interact and my kids would have loved to have one but we travelled a fair bit and moved to different countries so we never had a dog and I probably never will. To me it would be a burden more than a joy. My youngest daughter says she'll have one some day. Are you a dog lover?
