Field trip

Rue de la BonneterieHave you heard? Woody Allen is in town! He appeared mysteriously a couple of nights ago but shhhhhh, it's a secret! My blogging friend Michel Benoit and I went on a field trip yesterday afternoon, exploring the city looking for graffiti. On the corner of rue du vieux sextier and rue des fourbisseurs he showed me the very clever and funny paper cut-out "ménage à trois" he featured on his blog yesterday (if you can tell me who the three actors are, you win!) and just a block away was this new image of Woody Allen. As I was taking a picture of it, Michel targeted me with his camera so in retaliation of course I had to point my own camera back at him. A short but violent pointandshoot exchange ensued, the result of which can be found below :-)

Can you spot Woody Allen below? His portrait is just around the corner from another very striking image. Now who's that?

(Avignon in Photos is now updated thrice weekly - next post on Friday)
(Avignon in Photos sort maintenant trois fois par semaine - prochain billet vendredi)

The streets of Avignon aren't safe with all this photo shooting taking place around town. If you come here, be prepared to be shot at :-)))

:-)))

Street art is interesting and respresentative of our urban angst but can at the same time be disruptive and disrespectful of people's right to personal property.

As for the people featured on the other blog they are: actor Jimmy Stewart as John "Scottie" Ferguson, and actress Kim Novak, portraying both...Judy Barton and Madeleine Elster, in director Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo.

Too much fun... will be sure to wear a Canon-proof vest when I come to Avignon... un gilet para-canon...

Looks like Woody is saying, "shhh, don't bother the trash can"...

So, only three times a week ???

But what are we going to do the other days ???
:-)

Hmmmm...I can see I'm going to have to watch out when you come and stay in Menton this coming weekend! Of course I can't wait!

Ah, I couldn't it out and now see you moved that green poubelle so you could shoot the chap in the last photo. No idea who he is. He looks like a rather cross Bob Marley.

The shot of you and Michel is absolutely precious. Love it! So very Nathalie when out shooting.

I envy you Avignon's wonderful street art. The menage a trois on Michel's blog is fabulous.

I can see that "Peter" has already commented. There are obviously a few of us around.

These portraits seem not to be signed. Some similarity with the famous Jeff Aerosol, but he always leaves a little red arrow.

It seems that James Stewart and Kim Novak in a double role have been found.

A very nice portrait of you!!

I don't know if Woody Allen is in Avignon but should be shooting in Paris (Woody Allen summer project -no tittle yet?) with Rachel McAdams, Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard and rumored Tom Hiddleston and Carla Bruni.

Hep ! Passe un bon week-end...shhhhh comme semble me souffler Woody....
