Rain and cold

View from my window
The weather was dreadful all day yesterday. Temperatures dropped badly, my daughter dug her boots and coat out of the cupboard before heading off to school, a cold north wind blew rain onto my windows, I heard on the radio that snow fell in Ardèche not so far from here. It feels like like autumn is already there before we even had a summer. For some spectacular images of 6-metre waves crashing onto the Promenade des Anglais in Nice yesterday afternoon, click here. I was only able to grab a couple of shots of my rooftop terrace through my dripping window, garden chairs piled high and flowers in a pot. Rather pitiful flowers I know but I must confess I don't have green thumbs. Killer hands rather.

These are wonderfully creative. From the thumbnail, I thought the top one was a large concrete water tower or something similar. The second one breaks up the visual world into three planes, each very different.

Great abstract b&w!

Looks a lot like Seattle right now, and it is cold here as well. Spring took a detour this year, I think.

Bref, on y voit goutte !

Hello Nathalie
Difficult indeed to take gorgeous pics these days because of the weather, but you can anyway always extract or create something interesting in everything you look at. Overall I love your texts, so well written in the two tongues, in their simple, picturesque and terse style, that matches so well the pics. Huberaime.

Oh yes, very creative. You can make just about anything into a wonderful photograph Nathalie! Perhaps printemps will return to Avignon soon! I hope so.

Michel Benoit said...

« Thank you, we have already counted your vote. »

A voté!

Bonjour! Nathalie,
It is funny how rain drops can "distort" an image/or images and make the image(s)look more intriguing.

Thanks, for sharing the beautiful photographs and the link.

By the way, I like the "changing mood" (colours) reflected in your header too!

Deedee, thanks!
You are the first person to comment on my changing banners. I added a photo banner about a month ago and changed three times since but it appears very few of my readers notice it - or in any case comment about it. I might do a poll on the topic.

Hi Natalie

I love the 2nd photo - it looks so fresh with the water and green behind the glass. I love yr banner photo a lot too :)

Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving such nice comments :) I'm grinning from ear to ear.

Happy weekend, Ev

Ok, I voted.

Lovely photos. We share a similar climate (I think), and have also been getting cold snaps and lots of late-season rain.

Fabulous rain photos. Quite magical and making me feel colder than I already am! I had seen your link to those waves in Nice in Nice-Matin but hadn't found the link so have used the Figaro link on Menton today. Thanks for that. Hope it warms up soon. Yesterday wasn't bad here, today cold and light rain. What happened to the south of France!
