Light and shadow

Place Carnot
Walking along Place Carnot I was struck by the way the harsh sun of the "midi" (south) enhanced the strict lines of late 19th century architecture.

Found on a blog somewhere in the Spanish speaking world a photo of a bunch of pine needles and a pine cone flower, or did you both receive simultaneous instructions from a higher authority ? . . . Have you been communicating telepathically with Consuelo ? ? ? Photo is here :

PS The shadow of the lamp on the wall is gorgeous...

Nathalie,
This is beautiful. I loved photographing the ornate lamps in Paris. You're so right. The shadows are just so graceful and against that wall. This is a real favorite of mine. BTW, the "lovers" are on my wall right now! Merci beaucoup.

Beautiful lantern; the shadows reinforce and accentuate some of its intricacies.

That's a gorgeous lamp! The window rails too. And an absolutely perfect shadow!

Stunning shadow play. I just love what you've captured with that wonderful eye of yours. This is one of my favorite of your many great shadow pictures. Kudos!

I wanted to say I'm so sorry for the difficulties you expressed. Perhaps you need a cheering up vacation? In which case, come see me in Seattle!

oh no its not harsh Nathalie, This is like soft December sun of India.
Shadows are well defined.

Sun has been worshiped for thousands of years now. Heat and light are precious.

Sun god disappears for 3 days from December 22nd and rises again on 25th December. We have various myths connected to it.

'soir nathalie !
