Dessert, Au Tout Petit

Au Tout Petit, 4 rue d'Amphoux, Avignon - tel 04 90 82 38 86.
Check out the dessert I had at Au Tout Petit restaurant last week : a "chaud-froid de fruits de saison, speculaas & mascarpone, glace au pomelo" where diced pieces of seasonal fruit (banana, apple, kiwi fruit) heated in citrus juice are topped with a crumble of spicy speculaas biscuits and a large spoonful of mascarpone cream cheese, served with a scoop of pink grapefruit ice cream on the side. The combination of flavors and sensations (warm, cold, tangy, sweet, spicy, soft, crunchy, juicy, crispy, creamy) was just amazing. A truly divine experience.
Tomorrow I'll tell you more about Au Tout Petit, one of my favorite restaurants in Avignon.

Ok, I am trying so hard with my French. I struggled with the the name of this heavenly dessert. I kept thinking "hot", "cold", hummm???? Then I read all about it. I can't think of anything much more divine. All those tastes and textures .........délicieux!

But the eye in the cabbage gave me a chill! :)

Oi! Now I'm hungry!! I should have visited your blog earlier ... like right before dinner instead of just before going to bed. Now I won't be able to sleep with this vision of sweet planted in my head!

I always used to think of crumble as something British and find many restaurants here serving a fruit crumble, which I LOVE. This looks something else tho - and delicious. I'm looking forward to more on this restaurant.
