Ten metre challenge

At homeDigital Photography School, a website dedicated to better photography, organises weekly challenges for its readers - this week's is an interesting one, it's called the ten meter challenge. The idea is that within a ten meter radius of the computer where you are now reading this, there are at least ten good photographs to be taken. Care to think of it? Look around you. How many interesting shots could you take in your immediate environment? I decided to give it a go right here at home, in my small apartment. I first looked for ideas without leaving my chair: my cupped hand, a pencil on my desk. I then headed for my bed just a few paces away and found a woolen blanket, a white cotton gown. My shadow on the white wall provided another interesting subject and so did my afternoon tea tray (with bonus bokeh) on my rooftop terrace. These are the first six. More in my next post.

Wonderful project Nathalie and you found some amazing shots. I love DPS. I send tutorials to my photography students often. I'm afraid my office is not nearly as enchanting as yours but I'm going to give it a go. I can't wait to see what else you found. These are all wonderful!

I've not done their challenges. now you have me intrigued.

Bravo, Nathalie!

Bonjour! Nathalie...

I think that your six photographs are very nice...I especially, like the different textures in the 4 collage photograph.

I also like the photograph Of your shadow and the afternoon tea cup.

I'am not a photographer, but thanks for the links.

Merci,
DeeDee ;-D

:-) bises et bon WE

No surprise to me that you have found such imaginative things to photograph. Of course i love that shadow of you. And I learned a new word. I thought the French word for blur was flou but now see there are these lovely variations and it's called bokeh. Fascinating.

I love DPS too. There is always something to learn and to challenge.

You have taken some very attractive photos in your near vicinity. I have been doing this for practice for some time, but always the same subject to see what happens with various cameras and various kinds of light at different times of day. It would be good to change the practice and try to find a number of different interesting shots just as you have.
