Hiking in January

Hiking in Provence is fantastic in January, the temperatures are great. The walk around Le Beaucet and Saint Gens offers a great diversity of landscapes. In the photo below, can you spot the troglodyte house huddled against the cliff? The red door will help you. In winter the south facing facade ensures plenty of sunshine and in winter the big tree in front of the house provides refreshing shade. Do you think you could live there? The nearest village is 3 km away but the nearest shops are more like 6 km.

Yes, I do see the house! A very different way to live!

Moi? Non. And walking 6 km to shop? That's why God gave America automobiles.

On the other hand, there are people in this country who make an effort to live "off the grid." That is brave and perhaps pure-minded but, frankly, I would rather sit here in my conventional home and look at my friends' blogs around the world.
