Wishing you were here

Villeneuve lez Avignon
Every Saturday morning there's a market in Villeneuve-lez-Avignon. Seeing this man wearing gold and green sent me thinking of my Aussie friends. I am fortunate that some of my blogging friends will actually be visiting next summer. Sally from Sydney, m. and mrs. benaut from Adelaide, when you come we'll make sure you come here, I think you'll enjoy it.

Or perhaps a gilded garden furniture set...

... or else a boat that you could sail home in? As you can see my selection only includes items that are lightweight and easily fitted into a suitcase! All right, perhaps you could just go for that set of red tins on the right: sucre, farine, café, pâtes, thé - do you understand all these words? That would help you practice your French on a daily basis in your kitchen... All of you, do you enjoy antiques and flea markets? What kind of thing do you look for when you go?

I didn't give the English translations, I'm sure one of my readers will.

Thank you so much for your great shots. They; like you, are inspirational.

Nice selection of pictures of items available at the flea market. It is much the same as our flea markets. Now, however, much of what used to be on flea markets are on Ebay and Craigslist.

Beautiful photos, Nathalie. Looks such a nice antique market. I look for unusual things, as I'm sure you do.

And snap, cos I'm featuring antiques too - well perhaps one should call it Brocante! You'll find a sanglier on Menton today!

And like you, am so looking forward to Sally's visit and the Benaut's. Won't that be fun. Great find to see the gentleman with the Australia t-shirt.

Ooooh. There's nothing like a warm welcome even before we get there! Thank you Nathalie (and Jilly) for thinking of us.
To answer your questions Nathalie, yes, I understand all of those french words on the cannisters and I probably would buy those for M.B for his birthday. I think they would match our house and kitchen beautifully. But for me, I would buy the gilded outdoor furniture because it looks dainty and quaint too. Shouldn't have any problem fitting those chairs in my suitcase. lol

I would have volunteered to give the English translations, - but looking back at all my mistakes, in French, - I do not dare !

Thank you for your very kind comments at athens [perspective]. From someone whose photoblog I greatly admire, they are truly very appreciated. :)

Great catching up, and thanks for the dedication, along with the Benauts!

I hope we don't have to don our green and gold Aussie clobber????

This post takes me back because I think I know the place. Personally, I love going to flea markets and places like that. You never know what you're gonna find, or what treasure you didn't know you needed until you set your eyes on it and then you absolutely MUST have it...

We don't have very interesting flea markets around here but we have "garage sales" and I always have a look when I see one.
