Trois salades

The Farmers Market in Velleron opens only for two hours a day, late afternoon from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  It's a no frills market with nothing else than fresh produce from local growers. They all park in a row, open the back of their truck and sell whatever was picked that day - can't think of anything fresher. I arrived at opening time at 6:00 pm and bought all my fruit and vegies before dropping them into my car and returning for a second visit camera in hand. I'm so glad I did : in the mean time, the lettuce man had sold all his stock but for three oakleaves. He kindly let me take a picture of him but the display was nothing like the mountains of greens I'd seen less than an hour before.

Just six to eight in the morning? That's too early to be up!

Always the greatest pleasure in France - to buy the freshest of food for when you need it.
We are heading to the Tarn soon for a walking holiday - can't wait to be back in France!
