Behind the scarf was a lovely young lady with thin features, black hair and a very white skin. At one point she just pulled her scarf over her head to get some sleep.

Sous le foulard il y avait une charmante jeune fille aux traits fins, à la peau claire et aux cheveux noirs. A un moment elle a tiré son foulard sur sa tête pour dormir un peu.

That's funny! I can relate. I've ridden the TGV a couple of times, and once it came to a dead stop and just sat there on the tracks for a couple of hours. It turns out that the rail workers went on strike. I was so bored, I could have eaten my own head. Or put my scarf over my head and gone to sleep ;^)

Il m'est souvent arrive de voyager comme ca... Des voyages de 24 heures ou plus en train ou en bus, en Turquie par exemple.

Entirely understandable to want some sleep, and if that means making things as dark as you can...

What strikes me is that no one else seems to be paying attention.

I would be suffocating within a few seconds!
First time I've seen the interior of a TGV and I'm surprised at how narrow the aisle is and how close together the seats are. My daughter and I took the Eurostar from London to Brussels recently for the first time and it was very spacious.
We were really tempted not to come home but to get on the train (TGV or Thalys, I can't remember) that was leaving from Brussels Midi for Marseille.

@ Linda - the fabric was quite thin but I think I would have been suffocating too.
Interesting comment you make about the TGV's narrow aisle vs. the Eurostar, I thought they were exactly the same trains. Perhaps they're not?

C'est le nouveau look été 2014. Bon, ce n'est pas très pratique pour regarder dehors.
