Demain, c'est notre vide-grenier place Pie/St-Jean-le-Vieux !https://scontent-cdg2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t31.0-8/13323442_10204846341996721_7984811881912785999_o.jpg:D
The place looks busy!
Do you ever buy anything at the markets, or do you do what I do and only take photos?
Le vide grenier, l'endroit idéal pour acheter tout ce que les gens veulent jeter ou vendre ce que toi tu veux jeter... Dans tout les cas tu y trouves tout ce qui se jette!!!
Stefan to be honest I rarely buy much these days and this one did have anything nice in it but there once was a time when I did buy. When my kids were little I used to buy used clothes to make costumes for them. I ended up having a chest full of them and the kids loved digging out odd clothes to dress up.And when I moved back from Australia and had to find things for my flat I found a few picture frames, some tea cups etc.
Thrift shops and flea markets have a fascination for many people. Thrift shops have always appealed to me because there seems to be some organisation to them, but I have never really enjoyed flea markets because the system seems to be more haphazard. If I visit, I usually merely stroll around and marvel at the variety of merchandise.
Ce que l'on va y trouver a toujours sa part d'inattendu et d'amusant, sait-on jamais si l'on ne va pas dégoter la perle rare pour ceux qui se lèvent tôt et en général le dernier endroit avant la donation ou la casse.
It doesn't look too much different here except that the vendors usually have tables and tents. The set up reminds me of a market we saw in China (and one of my favorite photos), https://flic.kr/p/34Mo9GWe have a French-related activity on Tuesday. My brother is director of North American operations for St. Gobain. They have built an enormous roofing products plant near St. Louis and he invited us to the official opening. The big boss is coming in from Paris. I've seen him on TV - very smooth. What is an appropriate way to introduce one's self in French to an important personage?
Marrante la rumba du lampadaire ;-)
