Random Christmas fun

Rue Joseph Vernet
As Christmas gets nearer, things are getting fun.

Noël approche, on commence à s'amuser :-)
In Avignon, a red hatter passes by a Christmas tree in rue Joseph Vernet. At the Sunday market in l'Isle sur Sorgue, Santa's dog watches with interest as Mrs. Santa serves free vin chaud (glühwein) to passers-by.

Love that first shot, Nathalie. You have caught the symbolism of the season to perfection.

I could use some vin chaud right about now, as I"ve got my annual Christmas cold!

Well, that's a pretty good bit of photographic technique. It portrays nicely the dizzying effect of shopping streets at this time of year.

Thanks for your long comment on St. Louis DP today. I mostly agree but it's hard for me to think that the current systems of belief will metamorphose into something new. Don't take too European a view. Christianity is alive, well and shouting for attention in this country.

Wonderful! You are so brilliant at these sort of shots. I went out the other night trying to get movement of light shots and failed dismally. I'm writing you privately...

Adore the dog and some hot wine would go down well - on the other hand, perhaps not, it's 7 in the morning.

Since our city is 6,000 people or less, and since our downtown area is mostly vacant, and since the biggest event ever in our city was when somebody took a pot shot at the high school building—a ploy to get police to school and away from bank she was gonna rob, but failed, our small city has nothing much of interest. You can't just walk downtown here and see anybody remotely looking like Santa Clause or his dog, that would be really big news. So it is hard for me to imagine a man living in the middle of farming country, surrounded by several thousand acres of corn and soy beans, to dream of starting a hosting service for bloggers. If you live in Paris, New York, or even Rome, there are plenty of places to point your camera and come up with something us "folk" do not know about or have never seen.

Congratulations on your special find of Mrs. Clause and their dog. They turned out looking pretty nice and in wearing the right costume colors.

L'image abstraite est somptueuse! Un tableau vrai! Bravo, bravo (Alors deux fois bravos? Oui!)

And this is spectacular Nathalie, the wine serving santa and the christmas dog. So totally unique.Once again you have used your sixth sense in capturing this moment.
I hope the dog gets red shoes for christmas.

@Huberaime,
