Rhone and swan

Rhône is the name of the ship but are we in Avignon? Perhaps the flag can give you a clue.
Photo taken ten days ago on a lovely weekend.
Answer: this was Lake Leman, the large lake separating France from Switzerland. The Rhone is a traditional style ship that does day cruises from Geneva stopping at many little ports around the lake. Here we are in Nemier, on the French side. Learn more about these cruises on http://www.cgn.ch/

Meanwhile, the swan could care less! Quite a watercraft.

What an interesting shape for a ship. Is it a ferry of some kind, or just a rich person's ride? - Margy

This photo and your explanation brought happy smiles of recognition to my lips. In 2008 I visited Lake Como, in Italy not far from Geneva and Lake Leman. There were some modern equivalents of this ferry traversing Lake Como, and I saw some local artwork featuring a 1920 vintage poster of Lake Como with a ship much like this. When I got back, I tracked down one a rare original of that poster, and today it hangs in my house in Florida, where I see it every day. (There is also a similar Lake Leman vintage poster, a reproduction of which I once had.)
