Last Wednesday I had the joy of meeting up with my friends of the Sketchcrawl Avignon group to have a go at sketching around L'isle sur la Sorgue, a little town famous for its many antique shops and fantastic Sunday market. The weather being quite cold we took shelter at Coté Parc, a treasure trove of antiques and vintage home decoration items, where the owners kindly let us sit and sketch to our heart's content. The place was so inspiring we worked there all morning and came back for more in the afternoon. On the recommendation of the shop owner we had lunch at Au Chineur.
All in all the five of us had a great time. I was less than satisfied with my own work, which showed how long it'd been since I last held a pen, but I was amazed by my friend Liliane's talent. Will you recognize in her beautiful sketches below some of the scenes I'm showing here?

A proverbial smorgasbord of things to sketch. I haven't sketched in years.
lovely shop indeed
What a good day that seems for you all....I am still being glad you are back.
Your friend's sketches are quite good. I would suffer from overload in this place. It wouldn't be a place I wanted to sketch or photograph.
Jack I can imagine the sense of overload, the lady in charge was in the process of carrying out the inventory: she spent the whole morning doing only four shelves and there are six rooms full of stuff, plus loads on the pavement outside. A nightmare!
Tilia, je transmettrai tes félicitations à Liliane !
First - what an amazing shop and second your friend's sketching is stunning.
Those of you who saw Liliane's sketches might be surprised that they're no longer there but I withdrew them at the author's request. She said she'd rather post them on the net herself, which is legitimate.
I've replaced hers by one of mine. Nothing to brag about but I figured it would be odd to write about a day out sketching without showing even one of the works produced.
