Three shoes and four paws

Read the title and then look at the picture carefully. The photo has not been tampered with.
Avignon, september 2007.

Let me tell you, this photo was not taken today. At the moment a freezing mistral is blowing at close to 100 km/hour and this afternoon it snowed in Aix-en-Provence and Marseilles, less than an hour away. Trying to keep warm by looking a my summer pictures...

How observant of you!

Three shoes...and four paws ;-) Maybe the dog chewed the shoe mates? Anyway, I am fine with that fashion statement!

(SDF?...the dog seems healthy, which makes me happy.)

Oh Isabella thanks for the title, I love it! I think I'll change it now.
No, not SDF (homeless). These people were chosing hats outside a shop and looked quite average.

Observant? Hardly. In fact I took a photo of the dog and only noticed the shoes much later, on my computer!!!

Sometimes you have good surprises once you have registered on your computer; this was clearly one!! (Sometimes there are also bad surprises! - "plus and minus").
Mistral! At least the sky is clear then! (- "plus and minus")

But, really, must we wear matching shoes? Why? Who made that rule? Wouldn't it be fun to wear whatever we like regardless? Love that dog! :)

Love the photo, love the dog, love the title! I reckon the guy has a bad toe and it won't fit in a particular shoe, hence two different shoes, but then why didn't he wear a matching shoe on the undamaged foot? No, that theory doesn't work, does it?

And in reply to your query, Nathalie - the dog is a Smooth Fox Terrier. V nice one too.

No snow here but they've falls at La Turbie which is on the autoroute above Monaco. It's so cold tho like you - worse yesterday with the Mistral you kindly sent us!

I reckon it's the mistral that is making you miserable. They say those winds are not nice and I agree. It will soon pass. Apparently it lasts 3, 6 or 9 days so let's hope this is a 3 day mistral.

Courage!

What a great photo -- and what a great blog ! Was nice to have you stop by mine (I gave you a link)... Interesting photos -- enjoyed looking and reading about them all...

Excellent eye! I mean, that is a great catch! And yes, the title really caps it off nicely. I applaud you. This is a slice of life not often captured, and it delights me to have seen it.
Thanks.

At first I laughed then I realized the gentleman's left foot had been injured. So now I feel guilty for my laugh. Well maybe not too guilty ... Great title.

Joli coup d'oeil; Madame.

Jilly said...

No not a Parson JRT, Mme Benaut. Definitely a smooth Fox. there are similarities but if you saw them together you'd be sure.

Kunterbunt said...

Well seen and a bit funny, the man wearing different shoes. the dog's paws neutralize it because they look all the same.

What a coincidence ! I was only talking to this cute little dog a fortnight ago.
It was at 'Sculpture by the Sea' on the walk from Tamarama to Bondi.
His owner had trained him to fetch single shoes, - size 9 1/2.

Here's another view.

Nathalie, sadly, I have no garden for a sunset party currently, so I am tuning the bike! Also, I am making arrangements to find the rest of the decorated light poles for you!
Thanks
