Rooftop terrace

Another view from my window. It's reading time on our rooftop terrace. We're so close to the sky up there. The only shadows are cast by the chimney and TV antenna in very graphic lines.

She's the prettiest girl you can think of but she's frowning here both because of the sun and because she's reading a particularly stressful episode of Harry Potter's adventures.

Nathalie, In the portal the thumbnail reminded me of something very 18th-19th century. . .J.Austin on a rooftop in Italy or something. This is so beautiful and she is very much contemporary. A very happy birthday to her and congratulations to you. My baby is a couple years older and it amazes me how beautiful these young women are. Mine, too just finished the final HP book, and kept putting off reading the final chapter because it somehow seemed an end to childhood to finish the series, which she started on in 3rd grade and we read together as a family all through those years, first dad stealing the book and reading through it in 3 days, then all of us partner reading it :-). How quickly the years go. You have so much to celebrate! Enjoy the sun and each other!

Your daughter is stunning, even with a frown. That sun on a rooftop sounds like just the ticket today, but we're not quite there yet. I'd love to sit there with you, Nathalie, and drink coffee, write haikus and chat.

BTW, your haiku (haikus don't have to fit the 5-7-5 I guess) was quite the hit, with other commenters, and with Inge and me. Great job. :)

Looks like a great place to chill out.
Beautiful composition with the shadowed antenna and chimney in the foreground contrasting with those on other rooftops in the distance.

You have posted some beautiful photos last days, that is remarkable. Good themes, good composition, and a chromatic balance very special. Congratulations.

I love all these 'aerial' shots. beautiful and reflective. The man with his violin is astoundingly beautiful. And to be able to hear him from your window...Aah.

Does she prefer to read in Feench or English.? I bet she is equally adept in both?

Happy birthday to your Baby ! (does she know you call her "baby"?).
Life looks quite nice in Avignon by now! Weather reports said 24°C there today. Is that right?

Very nice "baby", very nice terrace... and a very nice mother of course!

It seems that you really found a nice place to live!

Sally she actually prefers reading in French. She only really started reading for her pleasure recently (during the February school holidays) and that was in French.

Thanks all for your kind wishes to the young lady.

Oh, this takes me back to my days of revision and exams at that age.

What an ideal spot! What a (for me) nostalgic photo.

Tks for dropping in from time to time.. Glad you liked the river scene.
