What colour is your winter?

Sometimes my winter here looks like this...
Quelquefois mon hiver ici ressemble ressemble à ça...

And sometimes like this...
Et quelquefois à ça...

Or this...
Ou encore à ça...

Grey, blue, pink... Isn't the difference in our mind more than anything else?
What colour is your winter? Since 'tis the season and this will be my last message for 2007, I wish you a new year full of the colours you love. May it be good to you.

Bleu, gris, rose...

A bientôt.

Thanks for your good wishes, Claude. I'm off to the Alps tomorrow so for the next few days my winter will be white as snow, ain't I lucky? See you when I get back.

I very much prefer the pink cherry blooms. Our winter so far has been very, very white. Too much white as a matter of fact. Happy new year to you, too.

You are so right, Nathalie. It's often in the mind. I remember seeing t-shirts, when I lived in Cairns, saying 'Not another day in Paradise!' Paradise for visitors but not necessarily for those who lived there with their day-to-day problems.

Dawn here is amazing in winter as my study faces east and it's hard to get 'down' with the sun blasting at you in the early morning. So my winter is yellow and blue and bright and how lucky I am. And I love your colours too - have a wonderful time skiing and wishing you everything you wish for in 2008 and thanks for the great photographs.

Happy New Year, Nathalie. And once again, many thanks for your wonderful pictures.
The 1st one is amazing, I didn't realize it was a reflection before reading your comment!

Enjoy the snowy Alps, lucky you are!!
White Alps for the new year... Reminds me good memories, when I was living in Gap (nice city in the Southern Alps, not the clothes store ;-))

Beautiful photos once again! I am back in my house (renovations) and will be posting our winter shots soon. Our winters here are, at first glance, white...but when you look carefully, they're actually the most beautiful shades of violet and soft blues and pinks not unlike the lavender skies of Provence--only much, much colder!

Oh, and happy new year!!

Like Jilly, my winter is blue and yellow with a lot of pink...and red...and white...and green (and those are just the colors in my back yard). We are lucky, indeed ;-)

Happy skiing, Nathalie, don't break anything, and best of everything for the New Year!

(is that Isle Sur La Sourges you refer to in your 1st photo?)

Happy new year , let's get the best out of every color or season.
I promise to myself to be "stoic" this year to better cope with our French climate nowadays.

Like for you, my winter is a nice mixture of different colours ! The mixtures may differ between the seasons, but – fortunately – so far they have never been too dominated by one only!

I repeat my very best wishes for 2008!!!

I like your photo selection today.

I also wanted to thank you for all of the visits to my blog in 2007. And to wish you and your family a Happy and Healthy 2008 from me and Patty.

...and ours is a a whole mixture, but at the moment very much the reflection in the "rubine" as you can see, today.

Good wishes to you, Nathalie.

Ooh Nathalie, we have one of those berry trees just outside our bedroom. The name escapes me at the moment but it is the most glorious little tree. When the berries open, the actual seed is bright orange!

It's the same here. When it's mild temperature it is grey and rainy. But when it's beautiful with blue sky and sunshine then it is very cold, freezing.

Right now it's white and blue, Nathalie. Happy New Year! I look forward to seeing you throughout 2008.

My winter colours are mostly grey, but with some black and white to liven things up...

All the best

When I look just now from my window, I see only blue and white, everything is covered by white frost and the sun
tries to climb over the horizon.
And we can see also a plenty of diamonds on trees too :))
In this link you can see some other colours of our winter:

I hope, your 2008 will be a full of happiness and joy, Nathalie!

This was an interesting post! I was just looking at a brilliant deep blue sky yesterday thinking...that is a change from the greys and pale blues that I usually associate with winter here.

we have bright purple berries here (Beauty Berry Bushes --Calliocarpa?) and lots of dead vegetation the color of hay.

We live along a river on a hillside and have lots of mist and fog--all these very different shades of grey, which is nice. I like the fogs that creeps along the ground as well of the floating mist variety.

I love the blue background in the last photo, so I choose that one.

But all of them are gorgeous and perfectly signify winter.

Hi Nathalie!

I usually think of my Sydney winter as bright blue (the sky - you know that Sydney blue winter sky I am sure! clear, no haze) and bright yellow (wattle).
