As a child I often day dreamed while lying on the floor, looking up, picturing myself walking on the ceiling. A whole new universe opened up to me as I looked at it upside down. I loved this game which changed my perception of the world. This macro shot also sent me into a dream world where I was the size of an ant, entering the heart of a yellow iris with awe, as if it were a beautiful cathedral ...

Today my blogging friend Sally from Sydney Daily Photo will be visiting me. I'm so excited to see her. We'll certainly be doing a bit of touring together.
Your beautiful words and photo make me want to be a ant!!! Stange felling...
Nathalie vous êtes un poète de lumière.
magnifique.
Two Sydney girls together after such a long separation, what great fun that will be.
Don't forget that Sally must swim in the Rhône for her Aussie audience !!
I have very much enjoyed browsing through your recent posts--beautiful and interesting throughout. Thanks!
I don't want to destroy your dreams, but if you were an ant, I'm not sure to which extent you would enjoy this beautiful "cathedral"! Let's just be happy by looking at it like this!
Enjoy your day with Sally!
Patty and I thought about going for a naked romp in the corn field last night. Our flower is the same color as your flower which is very nice.
Your heading says it all, the commentary is poetic -- the picture is a classic.
Your words are as beautiful as your photographs.
Sally should be with you by now. We feared the tgv might be on strike today - along with many other trains. Happily, Sally and family were OK. They had to take an alternative train to Nice where their booked train, the TGV awaited them.
Today is iris day. I have one too! I love the ant and the fact that he has friend with him.
This is just beautiful, what an eye for detail you have!
I hope you and Sally have a wonderful time :)
Sublime
It's funny how we attribute human characteristics to animals. I totally see that here too, and imagine myself in such a place. What a photo!
Have fun with Sally!
That is such a stunning photo and your comment was perfect. I too used to lie on my back and look up at the sky to look for figures in the clouds.
I'll be on vacation for two weeks starting tomorrow, so won't be able to visit. (I've used scheduled posting on my blog; hope it works.)
we used to daydream about walking on the ceiling, walking through a mirror into another world like alice in wonderland and there was a poem about being the size of a bug and floating across a puddle on a leaf.
childhood--this photo delights the child in me.
Wondrous!
You should try skiing down hill, backwards, bent over looking through your legs..... When you approach a dip in the hill, it is very confusing. When you meet a snow cat coming up the hill, it is scary :)
Those converging ultraviolet lines have me hypnotized a bit too.
Bibi, enjoy the holidays!
Bill, you certainly sent me into a different dream world again!
d.chedwick, oooh that sounds like a great daydream too!
as you can imagine, i spent lots of time daydreaming. i still do. perhaps i am the other ant venturing in to the cathedral, shouting 'come on madame! come and look at this!'
Oh, I really like that analogy of the ant in the beautiful yellow cathedral of nature!
