Third day of spring

Villeneuve les AvignonToday is the third day of spring, apricot and peach trees are in bloom.
Cherry, apple and pear trees are a little late. They will really only start to blossom later this week.

Spring is certainly bursting out all over chez vous. I can feel the warmth of the sunshine from your photo.

Beautiful. We don't have anything even close to this here where I live.

Looks like you are having a beautiful start to Spring.

I'm sure the sky is bluer down there!

Not many cherry trees in Paris, but the sound of the blackbird singing is my signal that spring has begun.

Quintessential spring Nathalie - that soft blossom and cool blue sky. And always so fleeting. I had a cherry tree outside the house until a couple of years ago when it was cut down. I always feel a bit sentimental at this time of year. Can I quote Housman?

Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough,
And stands about the woodland ride
Wearing white for Eastertide.

Now, of my three score years and ten,
Twenty will not come again,
And take from seventy springs a score,
It only leaves me fifty more.

And since to look at things in bloom
Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go
To see the cherry hung with snow.

I'm shivering today, Nathalie, but I feel a little warmer looking at your fruit blossoms. We are still several weeks away from such things.

So nice to have you stop by and leave your good words. Thank you.

Absolutely gorgeous. I feel as if a ballerina is about to appear and do a pirouette.
