Getting darker

View from my windowMorning view from my window, 7:00 am. Days are getting shorter, mornings are getting darker, the mistral has been blowing for 3 days now with gusts over 100 kms per hour, tearing the leaves from the trees and sending them out and about in mad and dusty swirls. Sitting at my desk I'm feeling cold and miserable. I can't say I'm looking forward to the cold months we have ahead of us.

Ah, yes. We have a view of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline from our apartment tower.
The clouds have been blue/grey and heavy. The winds are blowing from the north and we are bracing for our first winter here after living in Los Angeles for the past 13 years!

Bonjour! Nathalie,
That is a very beautiful view from your window.
I know that you may "dread" the coming of winter, but I bet 10 to 1 that you will capture some very beautiful photograph too!

Wow....I could never get tired of that view. How lovely to wake up to everyday. I too am finding it hard facing the cooler mornings with only an hour of light after my long workday. Thanks for sharing. Stacy

Ah--we Canadians too feel the winter approaching. But we, like you, can find moments of beauty in this too.
I have posted a few fall scenes for anyone who wishes to see the colours in central Canada.

Yes, here too in California it has started to rain, but take warmth and comfort in the fact that you found a beautiful shot in the darkening gloom :-)

Bises....;-)
Mets un poster des îles devant ! !

Thanks for listening Nathalie but I didn't want to leave my comment permanent!

belle journée magique.

Beautiful early morning photo even though the mistral is making things miserable for you so I won't gloat about our spring weather here, although it is a bit windy too.

Fantastic photograph. The light in the centre is gorgeous and that sky is sensational. The mistral gets you down, winter is coming but it brings cosiness too....she said, unconvinced! Colder here too but sunny during the day. When you get too pissed off, come visit...
