A stone's throw

Along the RhoneNot often is our mighty river Rhone so amazingly still. In winter it's a roller coaster of fast grey waters which occasionally breaks out into massive floods. Even when the water levels are low, our strong mistral or even a slight breeze are there to trouble the surface. But last Thursday, ah what a incredible sight - I had to stop by on my way back from the gym : only a stone thrown into the water could bring the proof that this is only a reflection of the sky. Superb.

Superbe !

That is an extraordinary shot! I would frame it and hang it on my wall if I were you. Just beautiful. (There is another meme I do sometimes called Weekend Reflections that this would be perfect for as well!)

Beautiful shots and indeed, the stone was needed as proof of reflection!

Quel beau ciel de... lit de... fleuve!
Qui sans doute vaut sept poires?

I am very glad you stopped (and I wish I had the dedication to go to the gym). There could never be such still water on the Mississippi. The effect looks a little Magritte-ish.

"Superb" is the only word for your amazing photos too!

Superbe effectivement!

Avignon tu as oublié le clin d'oeil.

Just fabulous! If you are ranking your photos, please be sure to put this one up close to the top. You have so many great ones, but this is simple and perfect. I understand the Magritte reference and know for a fact that the Mississippi River could not give your this shot!

Bon weekend, Nathalie!
