The darkest day

Tonight winter solstice will be the longest night of the year. As from tomorrow our days will start growing longer again, if ever so slowly. This thought alone comforts me even though winter is ahead of us.

DUCK STOP SALE - Last minute update: our color spitting Rubber duckies are now out of stock. The last went out a minute ago.

Sorry I missed the colour spitting duck, maybe next year.
Love Leon, hope he wins,Lapland will get a shock when he turns up.
Well if it is your shortest day it is our longest. Happy Solstice!

The darkest hour is just before dawn. Really like the second picture. It reminds my of the so-called psychedelic light shows at rock concerts in the late 60s and early 70s (can't count the number of times I saw the Grateful Dead).

I think most people are ready for the days to get longer, especially Scandinavians.

Ah, here the days stay the same... only monsoon is expected, I live in the tropics and December is a pleasant month with intermittent rains. Wishing you all the joys of this season...

A photographer at PhotoMenton showed work that closely remembled your second photo. I love both your photos, of course!
