Meet the author

Meet the author - in action but not in Avignon. This photo was taken last week in front of a Palace that isn't the Popes'. Can you guess where? If you're not familiar enough with European cities, a visit to Peter's blog or to Richard's will give you the missing clue. More pictures of this photographer's paradise tomorrow.

A famous square that got flooded last week and it made headlines in the news. Does that help?

Beautiful picture of the flooded Piazza San Marco with the palace and basilica mirrored in the water. Nice picture of you, too, Nathalie. :-)

A typical demonstration of Nathalie in action.... with the right glimpse in the eye! ... and then the results of her efforts!

Great photo of you Nathalie and it is amazing to see the results of the flooding. Well I hope you three photo hounds had your fill of exciting photo ops!! I would have loved to witness the snapping that must have gone on. HA I am pretty sure Peter beat you two to the blog with way more photos in short notice!
Look forward to more Venice from you all.

That's a superb photo of you Nathalie - an action shot, so to speak. And what were you doing in Venice my dear? Apart from taking photos, that is.

I can imagine, how good times you have had there and not so much water on this square. That photo of you tells all that :)
I saw already Peter`s blog and knew about you two and Richard.
Those your photos has your magnificent sign, thank you!

Merry Christmas to you, our snow has gone, this is really weird, the second Christmas without snow during my life in Finland, if it is not snowing soon.

Brigetoun, Leena, yes this was just a normal new moon high tide, nothing like the true Alta Aqua that Peter and Richard had on the day after I left. For me things were just perfect: enough water for me to do the reflection shots I so enjoy and two days of perfect bright blue skies.
But it was VERY cold (the way I am dressed says something about that).

Venice.

I saw you hanging out on Peter's blog.

These are nice shots too.

Where is Peter? LOL

Hi, Nathalie, it's wonderful to see you there! I was surprised to see you in Venice in Peter's photo, and so happy too that you could meet up and enjoy that amazing city together. I had seen the flood in the news and thought it was much worse, so I'm glad it wasn't! Gorgeous photo of the piazza.

Ruth it DID get much worse after I left - this is peanuts compared to what came two days later!!!

If you look at the third photo - the slatted vertical wooden things at the extreme left - the "vrai acqua alta" came half way up those... but only for a few hours. Long enough to drown though

Ah, beautiful Venice. Such lovely photographs - so glad you got these before the real flooding and a great shot of you in action. Love it!

The first photo comes courtesy of Peter. Thanks to him for this very nice portrait.

Good addition to Peter's blog!

Your photos are beautiful. Different than Peter's but special in their own right. Great colors and composition.

It makes me want to add Venice to my Bucket List.

6 more days and I'll be on my way to Paris.. hooray!

What a treat all these photos are to see! Thank you for this feast for the eyes. I'm glad to hear you say the city's charm exceeded your imagination! I hope you enjoyed every moment of it. I bet your camera did not mind being hot at all!

The flooding was quite shocking to see but on a purely selfish level the images are just gorgeous. Always interesting to out a face to a blog and a pretty one too.
