Chômage in French means unemployment. The term is also used for the period during which a canal is emptied each year for clean-up and repairs - meaning forced stop-work for barge operators of course. Never any traffic on the Carpentral canal however ; it is only used for irrigation.Le chômage désigne la période durant laquelle un canal est vidé chaque année pour être nettoyé et réparé ou consolidé, ce qui signifie évidemment le chômage forcé pour les mariniers. Mais point de trafic sur le canal de Carpentras, il ne sert qu'à l'irrigation.

Je ne connaissais pas cette utilisation du terme "chômage". Mais ta photo le rend bien, être au chômage, c'est être un peu en attente. La nature semble en attente, un peu plus de soleil et de chaleur. Les arbres attendent de retrouver leurs petites feuilles.
