Rue Franche

Just a simple street in the old city centre, quiet, narrow, out of the way and hard to find. I particularly like this street for its two red ochre facades, a rare colour in Avignon.

Juste une petite rue du centre ville, étroite, tranquille et discrète. J'aime particulièrement cette rue pour ses deux façades rouges, une couleur rare à Avignon.

As I walk down streets like that in Avignon and elsewhere, I wonder how people get their cars in the garage in that narrow street.

I love this kind of streetscape.

So European. The closest we have are the alleys of some cities, but they are lined with garages behind the houses. I like the water drain down the center.

Charmante et propette.

This color in the narrow quiet street is divine... There appears to be a garage but I wonder if a car could manage the street and a turn!

Yes lots of people actually manage to park their cars in these garages - they usually chose smallish cars and get really good at manoeuvering!
