Plein air painting

On Sunday I came across a dozen  painters at work in the vineyards. Chatting to them I discovered they were on a 9-day Plein air painting in Provence workshop led by Canadian artist Ian Roberts. Click here to see Ian's plein air paintings, click here to learn more about the workshop. Would you feel like joining in ?

Nicely done. Sepia is a good choice.

Yes, I agree with your point. If permitted, I would roil around these vineyards/grasslands all day watching the painters at their toil. With my camera ...

Time travel to visit Van Gogh at work, but then he was down the road. The photo has a quiet charm, unhurried, contemplative.

Oh yes Julie, I had a grand time using my camera around them. I hope to meet up with Ian's second group next Sunday.
Painters in the field are such an inspiring subject !

In his workshops Ian teaches mainly composition, which (with light) is the essence of photography too, isn't it?

peinture imaginaire
J'aime beaucoup ta photo.

The photo that you took and posted has captured my imagination and reminds me, and others, how it is when you are outdoors painting. Nice post.

This is wonderful. You've really captured the feeling of the relaxed, unhurried artist at work here.

This is heaven, Nathalie. So beautiful. Love the sepia treatment. Such a wondrous atmosphere.

This is a work of art! For a second I even thought it was not a photo. Great job, Nathalie!
