On popes palace square the Judas trees are in bloom. I'd never noticed how the flowers sometimes grow straight off the trunk - a fluffy and colourful scarf.

SO gorgeous! I've never seen flowere cling to the tree trunk quite like that. If you enjoy participating in memes, I host a meme called 'Weekly Top Shot.' I'd love for you to come share your photographer's eye with me and my readers, here's the link: http://www.theviewfromrighthere.com/blog/?p=7002
This is extraordinary. I have never seen anything like it.
These are wonderful, Nathalie. These are new trees to me.
Count me into the astounded group, also Nathalie. It is like a fungus, but obviously not a fungus. It is immensely beautiful. Such a lovely shade of purple/lilac/mauve.
Magnifique!
It's like Nature's version of knit-bombing (where guerilla knitters stealthily enrobe an unsuspecting tree, fire hydrant, telephone pole, bicycle or other innocent object with metres of knitting).
Surperbes images.
Very very pretty!
Unique to me.
Superbe !
Well... neither did I. Never noticed they grew like this before - perhaps it's a one-off having been drastically pruned? Love the way you've framed these shots.
Amazing! I have no idea what these trees might be.
that is an unusual but beautiful tree...
We know them here as redbud trees, which bloom early in spring and very often have their flowers along their trunks. I think of them as puffy spring sweaters. Ours bloomed a couple weeks ago and have mostly fallen away. Here are a few of mine -

Fantastic spring photos, Nathalie!

We have these in North Carolina too... the first time I saw them, last year, I couldn't believe it! Gorgeous colors!
These are really very beautiful and very unusual. I've never seen the Judas tree...(I seem to learn so much through blogging)!
