Fountain and tree

Pernes les Fontaines
The tree (or its shadow) is easy to see - but can you spot the lovely fountain ? It's a stone basin located just in front of the passers-by. This is one of the forty fountains you can see throughout the village of Pernes les Fontaines, not far from Avignon. A self-guided walk takes you from one to another. Just for info, the fountain has a small but constant flow and delivers drinking water, which is not always the case in France if the water comes from a local spring whose quality cannot be guaranteed.

I adore your shadow photographs. This is beautiful. Now, because of you, I walk around looking at walls and the ground to find shadows. I see things differently and have to thank for it. The fountain detail is beautiful.

Bonnes vacances (?)... Elle est belle cette ombre.
Mais sous la gargouille, c'est quoi ? On dirait que l'eau est gelée...
A bientôt.

The hot season is over, but fresh water is always welcome! In Paris we have still three sources where you can fill up your bottles... and a lot of Wallace fountains with free drinking water! Hardly anybody seems to care.

Nathalie, This is a new favorite. I think the shadow is wonderful, I just sat and stared at it for a while. I like the detail of the spout as well. Great capture on that one. Now I'm thirsty!

merci

I love the reflection in the water, which actually looks like some sort of molten metal.

I walked past this fountain last month and alas, the tree was no longer there. The square looks very bare now. How sad...
