Going, going, gone

Not an extraordinary shot, a wildflower and a bee, but I like the way I caught it flying away while the flower remained in focus. Below, the same scene just four seconds earlier.

Rien d'extraordinaire, une abeille sur une fleur, mais j'aime le mouvement d'envol de la bestiole alors que la mise au point est sur la fleur. Ci-dessous, la même scène quatre secondes plus tôt.

Wow Nathalie, these shots are fantastic. I've tried similar shots without the same success! But then I'm a beginner and you are a pro! I mean that in the kindest sense. It is great to be home but I miss all of you. We had the best time in Avignon and meeting you was the icing on the cake. Much love to you dear Nathalie. xx

I like the photos quite a bit.
The delicate colors of the flower are nice.

Wonderful - love the action here. Beautiful macro shot as always. I adored Musee Calvet yesterday.

"Not an extraordinary shot"?!?

I would say that it is spectacular! You must be a harsh judge? :)

Thank you for your blog. Great photos. It's good that you have French and English on your blog. I was in Avignon in April and loved it. After I came back I read the book about the Palais des Papes, "Avignon of the Popes" by Edwin Mullins. So glad I came across your blog. Looking forward to seeing more of your photos.

I like your low view point which gives you the blue sky. I can't get down like that anymore. If I did then it would take half the day to figure out some way to get back up on my feet.

I think it is a nearly perfect photograph. You must be a steady gal and not shake at all. Or, you have an image stabilization lens.

Fun shots. I like the challenge of trying to capture a bee with my camera. Sometimes it works and sometimes.... Oh, well. Your bottom photo works.

Love your comment on my blog about the blue bridge. ;-) Yes, the colour is a bit garish, isn't it?

Just a couple of notes in answer to your questions about the brush on my post today.

This was 1953 before synthetic anything. So the bristles are real and I don't really know what animal they came from. They look the same today as they were then. I suspect that when you turn the bottom and the brush is sucked down inside the case and then the cap is put on that this process has protected the bristles more than if exposed.

I posed the same question about the feet being cropped on the post. I don't know. I was on the photographer's side of the street and had a long lens and suspect it was too long for the distance and I must have chosen to crop the feet more than that hat.
