L'isle sur la sorgue
The market in l'Isle sur la Sorgue is not limited to fruit and veggies alone. You can also find flowers, olives and spices there, along with lavender bags and soap, colourful woven baskets, leather shoes and sandals, tablecloths and tea towels of traditional provencal design, "boutis" (traditional bedspreads made using a technique similar to quilting), olive oil, home-made jams and spreads, straw or panama hats, scarves, pottery, jewelry, summer dresses... enough? Where would you be likely to stop?
Où auriez-vous envie de vous arrêter ?In the top photo is my Aussie friend Toni, in the bottom one is my mother, both enjoying themselves tremendously.

I'd be right there with your mom admiring the quilts. Nice!
Wow - those handbags and tablecloths are outstanding! My wife would go wild there - I'd have to drag her away...
Such rich and bold colors! Makes it seem like all is right in the world...
Oh my goodness, like mother, like daughter. A very good looking woman and no surprise there!
I love the French boutis.
What I wouldn't give to have those type of markets here in Texas! Beautiful pictures!
I love checking your blog as your photographs are so enthralling! I love to learn of far away places and you make me feel like I am there!
Wonderful colours, aromas, sights and sounds. Can't wait to be back on France.
Of what you have shown, I would linger longest at the tablecloths and tea towels; I love textiles and the colors and patterns are beautiful!
Bonjour! Nathalie,
I think that my first stop would be to pick up...scarves, tea towels, hmmm...and maybe very simple bracelets. I agree with you, the colours are very vivid, bright, and colourful.
Merci, for sharing!
DeeDee ;-D
Well I'll take every single handbag , then I like the tableclothes as well!! I love seeing your friend and your mom. What fun you had. I wish I could have been there for this shopping trip. I"m home Nathalie and I don't mind telling you I'm still blue about leaving Paris. La sigh. Have fun with your family. I know it's a joy to have them there.
Best to you all,
V
