A Different Perspective

Today 1st of September offers "perspective" as a theme for our monthly City Daily Photo challenge. Since fellow blogger Bob Crowe, the remarkable photographer behind St Louis Daily Photo, was in Avignon a couple of days ago, I thought I'd let him run the show. There he is happily clicking away from my rooftop terrace, offering you two different perspectives on Avignon, one looking north-west to the Popes Palace, one looking south over the old city rooftops. I really enjoyed meeting Bob and his best half, both of them are delightful.
To see more "perspective" shots from all around the world click here to view thumbnails for all participants.
And if you want to see an amazing number of perspectives on a single piece of architecture, see Bob's outstanding series on the St Louis Gateway Arch. To me it shows how a talented photographer can keep stretching himself further. Bob's been posting a new photo nearly every Thursday for over three years now and every time I think he's shown it all, he comes up with a new angle or perspective - just brilliant! Check out his Thursday Arch series here.

Super shots of Bob in Avignon. I agree with your comments, Nathalie, a fabulous photographer and that Arch series is amazing. I can see you enjoyed their delightful company as much as I did.

Chapeau !

Nathalie - thank you for showing us your beautiful city, for your time and your gracious hospitality. We had a wonderful time and we certainly hope to return. The way you composed these shots, no one but you will recognize us when we come again.

Today is the big Franco-American photoblogger meetup in Paris. Lunch with Cergie and Peter, then down to Evry with Cergie to have a pre-opening look at Olivier's photography show. Finally, back to the city for dinner with Olivier, Cergie and Cieldequimper from Versailles. My right index finger is itchy.

Great interpretation of the theme. Different angles, Color and monochrome. Different photographer. Julie and I enjoy comparing our very perspectives in photos we take of the same place.

I hope to meet Bob some day, as I am also an admirer of his skill and creativity. I feel like I know him through his blog, and he has stayed in our condo in Costa Rica, as have his daughter and son-in-law.
