Home cinema

Outdoor dinner under the mulberry tree, sun about to sink into the neighbour's garden. A guest leans forward as he eats his cheese and I spot his shadow on the deep green garden shed door. I run for my camera : Pssst, would you mind leaning forward again please? My friend kindly agrees. The photo shoot becomes a major attraction, everyone wants to come and pose for their profile shot. But time is running out, the sun is disappearing fast. Just a few more clicks and the shadows take over. We all sit back, have more wine and cheese, return to our mellow conversation. Sweet summer night...

How fleetingly lovely. And I couldn't have texturized it better in Photoshop.

Brilliant. This has something of old-fashioned silhouettes of faces with Matisse cut-out leaves. Rich images.

If these two shadows appeared in the same frame, one would wonder, what did the two shadows say to each other as their eyes met, and the two images drew closer together. A chance encounter as they contemplated the romantic sunset that cast their images towards each other, closer, while they anticipated the long night that would follow the sunset, . . .
